Ex-NMMC engineer booked in disproportionate assets case

A retired executive enginner of the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation was booked by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), along with his two wives, in a disprportionate assets case today, ACB said.
The engineer identified as Gesu Daraj Mohmmad Amir Khan, during his stint with NMMC between 1976 and 2010, allegedly amassed wealth to the tune Rs 48,20,929, which is found to be 43.46 per cent more than his known sources of income, said ACB SP (Thane) Sandeep Karnik.
The ACB booked Khan and his wives Momina Gesu Daraj Khan (41) and Firoza Gesu Daraj Khan (47) under section 109 of IPC and under sections 13(1)(E) and 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
Khan allegedly registered properties in name of his wives, police said.
