Excise inspector's body recovered from Bhakra canal

The body of a Patiala resident excise inspector Chandresh Kalia (32), who was reported missing a few days back, was recovered from Bhakra Canal near Ghanaur today.
Kalia's body was recovered with the help of divers and taken to Civil Hosptial, Fatehgarh Sahib, where his relatives identified the body, SHO, Sirhind, Harvinder Singh Cheema said.
Police also recovered a suicide note and his mobile phone.
In the suicide note, Kalia blamed his wife and in-laws for the extreme step, sources said, adding that Kalia had strained relationship with his wife whom he married 4 years ago.
Kalia was posted in Banur area in excise and taxation department. He went missing on October 4 and his car was found in Bhakra Canal near Adampur village the same day. The car was pulled out of the canal.
The post mortem is likely to be conducted on October 10 after Kalia's brother Atrish Kalia, who is currently in USA, arrives here.

Atrish had complained to the local police through e-mail about his brother going missing, upon which police registered a case against his wife, father-in-law and brother-in-law.
Sources said police was interrogating various friends of Kalia and investigating his mobile call details.
As per initial reports, on October 4, another man was accompanying Kalia and the police is investigating about him.
