Moffat, who is also behind BBC's massively popular modern reboot of "Sherlock", promises "loads of brilliant stuff" in the coming season of the show.
"I am delighted that 'Dr Who' is coming to India and it certainly seems to be the case that where 'Sherlock' is successful 'Doctor Who' is also popular. I can't reveal much about the ninth season as we are still filming and everything is top secret at the moment but loads of brilliant stuff to come," Moffat, 53, told PTI in a telephonic interview.
"Doctor Who" got a reboot in 2005 by BBC One and celebrated its 10 anniversary recently. The rebooted version has started screening on FX from May 15 in India.
Asked about the secret behind the longevity of "Doctor Who", considered one of the best sci-fi shows of all time, Moffat attributed it to the show's ability to reinvent itself with a new face.
There are always many stories circulating about the show on the Internet but Moffat is not concerned about them.
"There is always loads of humour in 'Doctor Who' and there is always lots of horror in the show. We are always trying to push it to the limits but most of the stories floating about it are not true," he said.
