The services of lounge will be available to passengers at a fee of Rs 300 for three hours. If the passenger wishes to extend the stay beyond three hrs, Rs 125 will be charged for every additional hour. Additional services such as the Wash & Change, business centre and retail convenience store will be chargeable as per usage by the passengers.
"An international standard lounge, providing a clean and hygienic environment for in-transit and waiting passengers, was required since a long time at our railways stations.
"We are extremely proud to present a world-class product in the form of the IRCTC Travelers' Executive Lounge to passengers at New Delhi Railway Station," Rakesh Kumar Tandon, Managing Director of IRCTC, said while announcing the opening of the lounge.
Spread across 300 sq metre area, the lounge is equipped with comfortable sittings, luggage racks, wheel chairs, recliners for night time relaxation; televisions for train information display as well as news and sports updates, Business centre with fax, printers, desktops, lockers, usage of clean toilets and urinals and shoe shiners.
"With this, we have taken a step forward in providing world-class facilities at railway stations. IRCTC Travelers' Executive Lounge has come up in association with service partners SSP Catering India Pvt Ltd," Tandon said.
IRCTC aims to open 50 more such executive lounges, providing world-class facilities at major railway stations in India in the near future.
