Union Minister Hansraj Ahir has urged bankers in the district to expedite the loan sanctioning process for educated unemployed youths to set up their businesses, under the Centre's 'MUDRA Yojana'.
All the needy unemployed youths in the district should be given financial assistance under the scheme for setting up their own small business units so as to enable them to stand on their own feet, Ahir said yesterday.
He was addressing the officers and bankers at a joint review meeting of MUDRA Yojana and 'Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana' at the local Revenue Bhavan.
The MUDRA Yojana introduced by the Central government envisages loan facilities for the needy youths and the bankers should scrupulously follow the guidelines and expedite the loan sanctioning process, the Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilisers said.
He also said that the banks refusing to sanction loan under the MUDRA scheme and child welfare scheme should be served show cause notices.
Ahir also urged the MSEDCL officials to expedite the works under Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana.
The transfer of land and construction of infrastructure under the scheme should be done on priority, he said, adding that if need arises the concerned officials should call a special meeting of the contractors so that the works should not be delayed.
