"The Central government, particularly Prime Minister Narendra Modi, should immediately release relief package for the flood-hit people of Jammu and Kashmir or face massive agitation by Congress here," Joint Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee Salman Nizami said.
He alleged that the government has turned a "blind-eye" towards the plight of the victims.
"I wonder what the Central government is waiting for and why they are not expediting the rehabilitation process. How long will people take shelter in tents and at others' houses? It won't be long before the harsh winter months arrive," Salman said.
Hitting out at the BJP-led Central government, Salman said Modi and other ministers are busy organising political rallies to gain power and are least interested in addressing the miseries of the people in the relief camps here.

He also criticised government for compensation of Rs 75, 000 per family for the flood victims.
"Thousands of homes have been washed away and the government announced just Rs 75,000 per house, which we will never accept," he said.
Salman asked the Central government to announce compensation of Rs 5 lakh per family, two-year incentive package for students of private and government schools, immediate assessment of the losses of dairy farmers, traders, farmers and provision of interest-free loans for them.
