Wanga in the memorandum sent to the minister yesterday said that the project was extremely important of the three districts -- Palghar, Thane and Nashik.
He also urged the minister to initiate the survey for the Dahanu-Kalyan rail link for which he had been following with the Centre for quite sometime.
Party leader and spokesperson for Thane and Palghar, Om Prakash Sharma told reporters that it is high time that the demand is taken seriously and work into the project initiated, which will benefit the tribal population of the three districts.
The distance of Dahanu-Nashik rail link is 155 kms and between Dahanu-Kalyan it is 120 kms.
