Expelled CPI(M) strongman Lakshman Seth to join BJP

Former CPI(M) leader Lakshman Seth, one of the main accused in the 2007 Nandigram violence case, today met state BJP chief Dilip Ghosh and is all set to come to the saffron party's fold within next few days.
"Today Lakhsman Seth met Dilip Ghosh and it was finalised his 'Bharat Nirman Party' will merge with BJP in next 3-4 days. The date is yet to be finalised," a senior state BJP leader said.
Seth, a former MP and CPI(M) state committee member, was expelled from the CPI(M) for "anti-party activities" in 2014.
After expulsion from CPI(M) he had floated Bharat Nirman Party but it had failed to make any dent in the political space of the state.

The CPI(M) MP from 1996-2009 from East Midnapore district, became more well-known during the anti-land acquisition agitation in Nandigram in 2007 that led to the killing of 14 people in police firing on March 14 in 2007.
The anti-land acquisition movement leaders had alleged his role caused the flare up of violence culminating in the police firing and blamed him behind atrocities on farmers who refused to part with their land.
