Popular litterateur Sanjib Chattopadhyay feels the transformation of small stories into molecular ones are overdue in sync with the change in times but cautioned against the experiment going further.
The 'Lota Kambal' writer, speaking at the launch of the 'Anu Galpo' by The Kobita Club, however quipped in his characteristic style, "But any further evolution of stories from molecular versions to sub-particle smaller ones, will only lead to the trend becoming viral (as we often see these days on the net)."
The world's first-ever edition of anthology of short stories 'Alpo Kathay Galpo' by members of an online poetry club, all miniscule write-ups has been brought out by frontline member of Publishers and Book Sellers' Guild Tridib Chatterjee.
"With the passage of time, people are getting more hard pressed to go through tomes of literature and molecular tales, which can be savoured more quickly, will become the reality but let the buck stop here" Chattopadhyay, the premier 'Ananda Puroskar' recipient, said.
Kobita club site spearhead, founder-member, popular singer, lyricist-composer-music director Surojt Chatterjee said, "We had set off our journey in the digital world with poems contributed by our members, all united by the same abiding passion for poetry.
"If poetry became and still remain our sole binding factor, why not attempting other forms of literature, we thought and this led to a torrent of small-stories and sub-sequent screening for the site. Now the book completes a journey," the Bhoomi frontman said.
"We have attemped alpo kathar galpo but every story forays into human self, present day life and emotions. In short which is art all about in various forms," the popular contemporary singer, instrumental in bringing back folk music in the popular domain, said.
The book consists of nine tales, from celebrity debutants like Surojit to commoners.
