Expert committee on transgenders to submit report in 3 months

An expert committee constituted to look into the issues of transgender community for suggesting measures to ameliorate their problems is likely to submit its report within three months, the government said today.
"An expert committee has been constituted vide order dated October 22, 2013 for making an in depth study of the problems faced by the transgender community and suggest suitable measures to ameliorate their problems," Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Manikrao Hodlya Gavit told Rajya Sabha today.
He said that the committee has been requested to submit its report and recommendation within three months of its constitution.

"The committee has held two meetings so far. The committee has been requested to submit its report and recommendation within three months of its constitution," Gavit informed the Rajya Sabha.
