The experts inspected the "foundation location" of the collapsed 11-storey building and also surveyed a 11-floor structure adjacent to the collapsed building. The buildings together were originally planned to be "twin residential towers."
The experts have also taken samples of soil in the site. Senior officials of the State government including those from the Public Works Department were with the experts during the inspection.
Soon after announcing a judicial probe into the building collapse, Chief Minister Jayalalithaa announced the setting up of a Special Investigation Team to probe the mishap.
Police had registered a case and arrested six persons in connection with the June 28 building collapse.
