Engineering exporters will leverage the Poland India Show in June to tap the potential European market against the backdrop of demand slowdown in traditional markets, industry body EEPC India has said.
Around 125 high-tech exporting firms are set to take part in the Innovations Technologies Machines (ITM) fair at Poznan city in Poland between June 3-6 this year.
"Poland offers Indian investors and exporters European Shengen visa, tax-friendly regime in the special economic zones and a gateway to the rest of Europe," Polish Ambassador to India Piotr Klodkowski said.
India Show is an initiative of the Commerce Ministry to take the Brand India across the world in its bid to reach markets where full potential of commercial engagement has not been yet tapped.
Engineering exporters' body EEPC India is organising the fair.
"Out of India's total merchandise trade of USD 800 billion, the bilateral trade with Poland has been less than USD 2 billion. At a time when we face headwinds in several traditional markets for Indian products, the Polish market provides us a good opportunity," EEPC India Chairman Anupam Shah said.

"Such exhibitions will play a crucial role in ensuring that our export basket increases even as we face challenging times in 2014," he added.
The ITM Poland fair provides a platform for engineering exporters across the globe to not only showcase their technologies but also indulge in exchange programmes for innovation in the sector.
The engineering sector which accounts for approximately 27 per cent of the total industrial sector and nearly 63 per cent of the overall foreign collaboration is looking to leverage this platform, EEPC India said.
