Sumit Vohra, the CEO and founder of admissionsnursery.Com, forum comprising 86,000 parents, said the future of the lakhs of EWS children is at stake as they have not been able to complete the formalities of procuring documents for the current academic year.
Vohra stated that the short time provided for submission of applications for admissions in schools was very much "impractical" and "lack of information" on school admission procedures from both the schools and education department has created confusions for the parents.
"Since the last date of submission of forms of the majority of the schools was today, hence affected parents got only 10 days time, while it takes 21 to 45 days to get prime documents like income certificate and caste certificate for the admission in the category of disadvantaged group or EWS category," Vohra told PTI.
National Progressive School Conference (NPSC), an organization with about 150 private schools as it members, had issued guidelines to the respective schools to open admission for 10 to 15 days between December 20, 2014 to January 20, 2015, and for the majority of the schools, the last date for applying for admission was today.
He also said that most of the first-time EWS parents, who are not well educated, are clueless about the various intricacies of admission and thus this whole "slack" approach is defeating the soul of RTE.
