Extra 1 million gallon water to be provided to NDMC areas: CM

Delhi government has directed the state Jal Board to provide extra one million gallon water to the areas falling under New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said here today.
The CM also announced that free supply of 20 kilo litre water and 40 units of electricity will soon be provided to the residents of NDMC area.
The announcements were made by Kejriwal during an interactive session organized by NDMC to invite suggestions from Resident Welfare Associations (RWA) and Traders/Market Association to make the smart city proposal more participatory and inclusive.
"The Chief Minister also asked NDMC to ensure that CCTV cameras in its areas should be proper functional. He heard the problems of RWA's and assured their redressal," a statement issued by the civic body said.
Naresh Kumar, Chairman, NDMC said the council has devised a ten-point programme to achieve the smart city mission programme.
"The proposal includes smart hospitals and dispensaries by e-Hospital portal, smart schools based on international standards, smart grid of energy for saving electricity, 24x7 uninterrupted water supply, CCTV surveillance system for security of every citizen, smart energy management through replacing of LED bulbs, among others," he said.
