The company, which is also looking to expand its presence in the international market, today forayed into contemporary western wear segment under the brand name 'Fabel'.
"We would add 50 new stores this financial year in the domestic market. The new stores would be a mix of company-owned and franchise model," Fabindia CEO Surat Datta told PTI.
"Fabindia is growing at 28 per cent," he added.
The company is operating 175 stores in 73 cities and is now looking to expand its base in the non-metro tier-II markets for expansion.

Fabindia Managing Director William Bissell said that the company is implementing omni channel retailing model, which would be a mix of brick & mortar set-up and other shopping channels.
"We are under process of setting up an omni channel model. We are working on that and most probably in the next six months we would start," Bissell said.
Fabindia, which has its presence in Singapore, Dubai and Rome would expand its overseas network also.
"We would open a new store in Hong Kong," he added.
On Fabel, he said that the company would introduce the new line in 10 stores in shop-in-shop concept in next three months and later it would be increased to 18 by the end of this year.
"We are targeting the youth segment, which is educated and know the different cultures," he added.
In 2012, Fabindia has increased its stake in UK-based women's retailer East and become a majority share holder.
