The woman was just a year into her marital life when she was diagnoised with adenomyosis, a medical condition resulting in enlarged uterus and doctors had advised her to undergo hysterectomy as the remedy for her medical condition.
As a last resort, she walked into Womens Centre about a year back, with utter pain, both physically and mentally, as she suffered from excruciating physical pain besides heavy bleeding during her menstrual cycles, Dr Mirudhubashini Govindarajan, Head, Womens Centre, said.
Stating that the woman responded to the treatment well though it took four hours to complete the procedure, Mirudhubashini said it took a little more than the usual time because the uterus was abnormal in size.
However, within three months the woman bounced back to her old self and a normal life, she said

After a period of symptom-free life, the woman and her husband chose to undergo fertility treatment too resulting in a normal and uneventful pregnancy, she said.
Since there are only two centres in India, which offer this procedure- one offers it for treating fibroids, Women's Centre used it for Adenomyosis too.

Meanwhile, Railway police said tonight that one person has been taken into custody in connection with the incident.
The arrest will be recorded only after the complainant identifies the person, police said.
