Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis left for Davos today to attend the 45th annual summit of World Economic Forum (WEF) as a special invitee.
"The Chief Minister left for Davos shortly after midnight," an officer in the CMO said, adding, he will return on January 25.
WEF president Klaus Schwab has specially invited Fadnavis and his Andhra Pradesh counterpart N Chandrababu Naidu to attend the summit.
Fadnavis is expected to hold one-on-one meetings with over 30 global business leaders and would be making presentations on biotechnology and sustainable food and water.
The chief minister had said that he would be inviting potential investors to Maharashtra and showcase the state to them.
World leaders from political, social and business backgrounds would attend the annual meeting of the WEF.
The focal theme for this year's annual meeting is 'The New Global Context'.
The meeting would discuss all aspects including those of security, stability, need for increased cooperation, innovation and related aspects.

They will be part of the high-level Indian delegation that also includes Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.
