Umale, who ended his life due to debt and crop losses, had mentioned in his suicide note that he was an admirer of Fadnavis and he wished that Maharashtra Chief Minister would visit his house in Akola.
Meanwhile, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) hit out at the Maharashtra Chief Minister for the growing number of farmers' suicides in the state.
NCP spokesperson Nawab Malik said that when Fadnavis was an opposition leader, he used to demand that Congress-NCP ministers must be booked under Section 302 (punishment for murder) of the Indian Penal Code for farmers' suicides.
Malik said that Fadnavis should stop his "stunts" of going on foreign tours and concentrate on improving the lives of Maharashtra's farmers instead.
