"The previous government was involved in a number of scams like the 2G, 3G and CWG. They have themselves maligned their image due to all this. Nobody else can malign their name any more than what they have themselves done," said Fadnavis, who was part of the prime minister's entourage during his recent three-nation foreign trip.
"People keep asking what does Modi bring when he visits foreign countries. Today, whenever Modi goes to a foreign country, he creates an investment sentiment there. Big companies want to invest here and be a part of this positive environment," he said.
The Chief Minister also said BJP's relation with its ally Shiv Sena is "strong" and that all decisions were taken with mutual consent.
"I have not read the Saamna newspaper article," Fadnavis said, when asked if the Sena is right about questioning India's credit of USD 1 billion to Mongolia at a time when farmers seek monetary help from the government.
He said criminal action would be taken against companies distributing milk if they purchase it from farmers at a rate less than what has been fixed by the government.
"Our law and judiciary department is looking at legal options available to us. One thing is sure. The government will be very strict on this issue," Fadnavis said.
