Failed in bid to loot bank's money, miscreants take away rifle

Unidentified miscreants decamped with a rifle and live cartridges after they failed in their bid to loot money from a cooperative bank's branch here.
Miscreants had entered the bank's branch last night by breaking a window, police said today.
Initially, they attempted to break open the strong room and bank lockers but failed to do so.
The miscreants, however, took away a bank guard's rifle and 22 live cartridges before leaving the site, police said adding that a case has been registered in this regard.
