Fair aiming to bolster India, Riyadh business ties on May 7

To present avenues for sourcing of products & services from India and explore business opportunities with the country to deepen trade ties, a fair is being organised here on May 7.
The Indian Embassy in association with Al-Majmaah Chamber of Commerce & Industry is organising a Multi-Product Indian Catalogue Exhibition (INDIA CATEX) at Prince Salman Sports City here.
The exhibition will showcase a large range of catalogues, CDs and other publicity materials of Indian firms from various sectors such as agriculture & food, automotive, chemicals, construction, electronics, information technology, engineering goods, health, medical & pharmaceutical products, textile & garments, education and tourism.
"The exhibition will present a unique opportunity to Saudi businessmen and investors for getting leads to source products and services and explore possibilities of setting up of joint ventures, investment opportunities and doing business with India, in various sectors of Indian industry and trade," an official statement said.
The exhibition will be inaugurated by the Chairman of the Al-Majmaah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Minister/ Deputy Chief of Mission of the Indian Embassy at Riyadh.
Catalogues and CDs from a large number of Indian companies will be displayed and distributed free of cost at the venue.
Riyadh is the capital of Saudi Arabia, which is the fourth largest trading partner for India. The value of the two-way trade between the two countries in 2012-13 exceeded USD 43.78 billion and stood at USD 32.7 billion during April- November 2013.
The import of crude oil by India forms a major component of bilateral trade, with Saudi Arabia being India's largest supplier of crude oil, accounting for almost one-fifth of its needs. For Saudi Arabia, India is the 5th largest market for its exports, accounting for 8.3 per cent of its global exports.
