The police arrested two persons and seized fake currency notes with a face value of Rs 1 lakh from their possession in West Bengal's Malda district, a police officer said Saturday.
In the early hours of Saturday, a police team found two youths moving suspiciously in a motorcycle in Baisnabnagar area. They detained the youths and during search found fake currency notes with a face value of Rs 1 lakh in their possession, the officer said.
The counterfeit notes were in the denomination of Rs 2000, he said.
Both the arrested youths were produced before a local court which remanded them to seven days police custody, the officer added.
