Fake currency racket busted in JKs Rajouri, One arrested

The Jammu and Kashmir police today claimed to have busted a fake-currency racket in Rajouri district and arrested one person , along with counterfeit notes with a face value of Rs 14,500.
Three more persons involved in the alleged racket -- termed a "major success" -- were identified and efforts are on to nab them, said Yougal Manhas, senior superintendent of police (SSP), Rajouri.
Acting on a tip-off, a trap was laid, during which one of the suspected persons was arrested at Khablan village on Rajouri-Thanamandi road and 29 fake-currency notes of Rs 500 denomination were seized, Manhas said.
The accused have been identified as Sagheer Ahmad Chowdhary, a resident of Rajouri district, Manhas said, adding that the involvement of some traders is also suspected in the case.
"Speedy investigation is going on to unearth all the links of this racket and put the accused behind bars," he added.
