City Crime Branch (CCB), following a tip-off, raided a house at Ejipura here last night and arrested Shameer, Mir Abdul Mutalib and Syed Aun Razi, officials said.
Seized counterfeit notes, with the face value of Rs 11.50 lakh, were in the denomination of 500. Three mobile phones were also recovered from the trio. They have been booked under relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code including 489 B (Using as genuine, forged or counterfeit currency-notes or bank-notes).
Based on the preliminary investigations, officials said the fake notes were of fine quality and suspected to have been printed in Pakistan.
The notes were channelised through Thailand and brought to India via Chennai and other places by different individuals for its further circulation, police added.
