Acting on a tip-off, two persons were arrested after fake currency with face value of Rupees six lakh was rovered from their possession at Baishnab Nagar near Farakka.
The police said the duo were carriers who had entered the country from Bangladesh through a non-fenced stretch of the border.
The fake notes were in the denomination of 500 and 1000, the police said.
In the second incident, fake currency with a face value of rupees three lakh was recovered from a person at Englishbazar area near Malda headquarter.
One person was arrested in this connection, he said. PTI
