Fake fertiliser racket busted in Uttar Pradesh

A fake fertiliser racket was busted in a raid carried out in Reosa area here, police said today.
Farmers from Reosa had complained about the sale of fake fertiliser in their area following which district agriculture officer (DAO) Akhilnandan Pandey raided a godown yesterday, they said.
As many as 35 bags of fake fertiliser was seized and an FIR, on behalf of the DAO, was registered under Section 3/7 of the Essential Commodities Act against three people, the police said.
District Magistrate Sarika Mohan ordered checking of every fertiliser godown and cracking a whip on the fake fertiliser racketeers, they added.
