City police today busted a fake visa racket and arrested two persons for allegedly preparing bogus visas of different countries.
Based on credible information, accused Syed Asadullah, a private bank employee and Syed Imran, a graphic designer from Mirchowk police station limits, were apprehended, Commissioner's Task Force Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police N Koti Reddy said.
The police team seized 12 fake visas of various countries, including Canada, South Africa and United Republic of Tanzania, besides fake stamps of airports including RGI International Airport (Hyderabad) with entry and exit stamps and Hyderabad immigration stamp from the duo.
A computer, printer, scanning machine and scanned images of fake visas, were also recovered, Reddy said.
Revealing further details about the case, he said, Hyderabad-based Syed Asadullah had gone to the UK in 2008 on a study visa for further education and studied MSc IT, after which he returned to India in September 2010. In 2012, he went to Singapore on a visitor's visa for a month. He gained knowledge about the entry-exit formalities while visiting other countries, police said.
"He was also selected as a customer service executive in a private bank and got trained, but did not report to work as he was not interested in that job," they said.
While looking for an easy way to earn money, Asadullah came in contact with one Syed Imran and both planned to get into making fake entry and exit immigration stamps on old passport photo copies of the visa applicants. Thereafter they started making fake visa documents to be produced as genuine documents, a police release said.
