Mentha oil prices fell further by 1.46 per cent to Rs 892.30 per kg in futures trading today as speculators engaged in trimming positions amid low demand from consuming industries.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in January next year shed Rs 13.30, or 1.46 per cent, to Rs 892.30 per kg in a business turnover of 102 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in this month traded lower by Rs 11.10, or 1.24 per cent, to Rs 882.50 per kg in 285 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by speculators on low demand from consuming industries in spot market against higher supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh kept pressure on mentha oil prices at futures trade.
