Families pray at Golden Temple for safe home coming of youth

Four Panic gripped families of youths from village Talwandi Cheera of Gurdaspur today paid obeisance at the sanctum sanctorum of the Golden Temple and prayed before the Almighty for their safe home coming from Iraq.
Around 50 Punjabi youths are stranded in the Iraqi cities of Mosul and Tikrit, which has been overrun by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), have urged the Indian government for the safe and early return of their children.
National Commission of Schedule Caste Chairperson Dr Raj Kumar, who was with the families at Golden Temple, said that four families of youths from Batala Town of Gurdaspur area were with him to pray before the Almighty.
He said that he would take up the matter in Delhi with appropriate Authority.
Youth Kuljit Singh's father Wasan Singh and sister Parmjit Kaur from Batala said, "It was tough time for the families as each passing minutes were giving restlessness as the fate of Kuljit is still unknown".
Jasbir Singh, father of youth Gurdyal Singh said, "Everybody in the family deeply stressed after the war like situation in Iraq. We humbly request before the Government of India with folded hands to do the needful to bring our son back to India".

"Few days back I got call from my son Jasbir Singh who told me that he was abducted by the armed people and taken to undisclosed location", Jasbir said with wet eyes in the periphery of Golden Temple.
Tears rolled down from the cheeks of Raj Kumar, father of Dharminder, who said, "I have only hope from 'Waheguru' in Golden Temple. I am sure that God will show miracle with the safe home coming of my son here".
Gurmukh Singh father of Baldev Singh said, he is quite sure that his son has been abducted and taken to unknown place and here it is right time for Indian Government to take up the matter with Iraq Government".
All the stranded Punjabi youths had left their homes for greener postures due to the poor financial situation at home that forced them to leave India.
Most of these families claimed that they have lost contact with the stranded youths since Sunday after which their phones were reported to be switched off.
