A family today lodged a complaint with the Burdwan Medical College and Hospital (BMCH) authorities alleging that they were handed a dead baby which was not theirs but the hospital refuted the allegations.
Chandan Kaha lodged a complaint with the Deputy Superintendent of Burdwan Medical College and Hospital, Dr Amitava Saha stating that his niece Madhumita had given birth to a baby boy on March eight. But as the baby had respiratory problem it was taken to the Neo Natal care unit.
Yesterday the hospital authorities told them that their baby has died and handed over a dead baby to them but Madhumita refused to accept the dead baby alleging that it was not her baby.
The Hospital Deputy Superintendent said as per our records the dead baby was the baby of Madhumita Kaha.
But still we would investigate the matter as a complaint has been lodged in this regard, Saha said.
