Farmer commits suicide in Muzaffarnagar

A 40-year-old farmer allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison as he was unable to repay his loan here, police said today.
Anwer took the extreme step yesterday at Patoli village under Bhopa police station in the district, they said, adding he had taken loan from a villager and he was unable to repay it.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead, they said.
In another incident, the body of a 30 year-old woman was recovered from a canal near Shoram village in the district, police said today.
The woman's unidentified body was found yesterday, they said, adding it is suspected that she was murdered and later her body was thrown into a canal.
The body has been sent for post-mortem and investigations are on, they said.
