A person was killed by suspected Maoists at Jaguguda in Odisha's Koraput district, police said today.
"We have information that one Krushna Kalpa, a farmer, was killed by suspected Maoists and inquiry is in progress", said sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) Jalandhar Jali.
Kalpa was forcibly taken out of his house by about five persons yesterday. They came to the village with his body and threw it there asking the people to perform his last rites before leaving the place.
However, no one has claimed responsibility nor any evidence found at the spot, police said.
