by unidentified assailants in Bihar's Sitamarhi district, police said today.
The assailants barged into the house of the farmer Nawadh Rai last night at Purandaha village and shot at him from close range killing him on the spot, Superintendent of Police Vivek Kumar said.
The dispute over land was stated to be the motive behind the murder of the farmer, he said.
A murder case has been registered against unidentified persons and an investigation was underway in the matter.
