Protestors said that they are not against port development for which land has already been acquired, but are opposed to the Andhra Pradesh government's mover to acquire more land in the name of setting up ancilliary industries.
A large number of farmers from Manginapudi, Tavisapudi, Karagraharam, Potlpalem and other villages, whose lands are to be acquired, blocked vehicular traffic and demanded withdrawal of the government's land acquisition notification, saying that they would not give up their lands.
