National Council of All India Kisan Sabha will hold a three-day hunger strike from September on a charter of its demands including pension and implementation of National Commission on farmers.

Addressing a press conference here, General Secretary of AIKS, Atul Kumar Anjaan today said AIKS members and leaders would hold sit-ins, relay hunger strike and demonstration in all district headquarters for 72 hours from September 1 to 3.

A monthly Kisan pension of Rs 3000 should be paid to all farmers, agriculture workers, artisan men and women from 60 years of age, he demanded.

The recommendation of National Commission on Farmers (NCF) proposed by Dr Swaminathan should be implemented, and the 'Minimum Support Price' of crops should not be computed on whole sale index rather it should be considered on retail prices, he added.

Anjaan demanded that there should be no dilution in Land Acquisition Act, 2013 to protect the interests of corporate and the builder lobbies, adding that any change will severely affect the farmers' interest.

AIKS will organise state level conventions and stage court arrests next month to highlight the farmers' issue in consultation with different farmers' organisations, he said.

AIKS will also hold an extensive campaign for membership from September to November, he said adding that it will go for 'Jail Bharo' if their demands were not met.
