The revenue officials had gone to the village on the direction of the district authorities to assess the value of standing crops in the area where the nuclear plant is proposed to be set up.
The agitating farmers also tore the officials' documents and asked them to leave the area.
Thereafter, Hans Raj Siwach who is spearheading the campaign blocked the road with the help of other farmers and opposed the acquisition of land.
However, the officers succeeded in persuading the farmers to open the road to traffic.
Deputy Commissioner M L Kaushik when contacted said, "We have sent revenue officials to conduct a survey of the land in question and some people created hurdle in their work. We are trying to resolve the issue amicably but no one will be allowed to take law into his hands".
"Majority of the farmers have agreed to give their land for the nuclear project and award would commence in the near future", Kaushik said.
After the incident, heavy police force was deployed to maintain law and order.
Haryana government had planned to set up a nuclear power plant here. But a faction of farmers are opposing the land acquisition.
