They were demanding hiked compensation and developed land for Yamuna Expressway farmers as being given to Noida and Greater Noida farmers after court orders.
"Farmers held panchayat at YEIDA office today. As YEIDA officials requested some time to discuss the matter so they waited.
"Later, OSD VP Singh took memorandum and asked for one week time to resolve our issues. He said state-level issues will be forwarded to state government. Farmers have accepted his request and lifted the protest," BKU district president Ajay Pal Sharma said.
"We have also demanded new land acquisition policy giving farmers the right to sell the land directly to private builders at their own terms. Further land compensation rate for other projects should be six times the circle rates," said Mahinder Singh Chiroli of BKU.
"Last year, YEIDA officers had promised that local level demands would be accepted and also assured that they will get other issues resolved through state government. In spite of repeated requests and protests till date our demands are still unresolved," said Sharma.
"Local issues will put forward before the Board meeting for approval. Regarding hiked payment and rehabilitation policy we have sought directions from state government as YEIDA cases have not yet been decided by the court and several farmers have got stay orders," a YEIDA officer said.
