"He has come out of the Gurudwara, where he has been on a fast, and we have taken him for medical check-up," Ambala's Deputy Commissioner Mandeep Singh Brar told PTI over phone.
Ambala's Police Commissioner O P Singh said Khalsa had been taken to a hospital after his health started worsening owing to fasting for a long period. "He has been shifted to the Civil Hospital," Singh said.
Khalsa has been seeking the release of seven Sikh prisoners including those convicted for the assassination of former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh in 1995 and one in the 1993 bomb blast in New Delhi.
