Manoj, a resident of Gagan Vihar in Sahibabad, was arrested from near Subhash theatre at Bhopra in Ghaziabad after police scanned the CCTV footage and found him giving a deliberate push to victim Nazim on his chest, a senior police official said.
According to police, Nazim, a resident of Mustafabad, was sitting on the railing of the second floor of the B-Block near court room number 56.
"No clues were available as no witness were present. But after scanning the CCTV footage it was found that the victim had not an accidental fall but he was pushed by Manoj," ACP (East district) Asif Mohammed Ali said.
Manoj, who is a gang leader of pick pockets and used to extort money from them, had gone to court premises to settle scores with Nazim as he had refused to oblige him.
In order to send a stern message to other pick-pockets, Manoj pushed the victim who succumbed to his injuries, the official said.
