The mishap occurred after the driver lost control of the car and it jumped the roadside divider and collided with the lorry coming from the opposite side, police said.
Police said the injured included the wife of the deceased and another relative besides the driver.
The driver was treated as an out-patient, police said, adding, the victims hail from Coimbatore.
