Justice C T Selvam posted the case for hearing next week, seeking instructions from the State government officials.
The petitioner submitted his son was tortured in police custody after he complained against some persons drinking near a temple in Tiruchirapalli on August 3, 2010.
Instead of acting against them, the Inspector had taken his son into custody and tortured him. In fact The Tiruchirapalli district judge who appointed an Advocate Commissioner to find out if his son had been tortured, had suggested that he file a complaint with the state Human Rights Commission, as the AC reported the Inspector had committed human rights violation.
He said the post mortem report revealed injuries on his son's body. Only after the complaint was forwarded to the CM's cell did the DGP transfer the case to CB-CID. But they too did not make any progress. Those who murdered his son at 'instigation' of the inspector were moving around freely.
