NCP has given a clean chit to Minister of State for Education Fauzia Khan against whom it had issued a showcause notice for working against the party's official candidate from Parbhani during Lok Sabha elections.
Satisfied with the reply given by Khan, a former MLC, the NCP state unit chief Bhaskar Jadhav wrote that Khan had indeed campaigned for the party nominee Vijay Bhambale and also wished her well.
"The party has found her (Khan's) response to the show cause notice truthful and based on facts," Jadhav said and thanked her for campaigning for Bhambale.
The party has withdrawn charges against Khan as it is satisfied with her reply, he said.
NCP had issued showcause notices to six party workers and leaders, besides Khan, for working against its official candidates in Lok Sabha elections.
In her reply to the notice, Khan had said that she was submitting proof regarding her support to the official nominee from Parbhani and on the number of meetings and rallies she had addressed in Bhambale's support.
Khan had conveyed to the party leadership that she had no reason to work against the party candidate.
