The department collected samples of milk yesterday from Mumbai, Thane, Satara, Pune and Sangli districts and have sent them to laboratories for testing.
"In total, 40 samples were collected from 19 dairies--3 from Mumbai, 4 from Thane and rest from Pune--from Mumbai, Thane and Pune. The FDA team has confiscated 936 litres of milk from Mumbai worth Rs 37835.
"It will get four to five days to get the report of the samples that have been sent to the labs," an official statement quoted FDA commissioner Harshdeep Kamble as saying.
The department has filed FIRs against two milk vendors in this regard in Versova and Kurar village in suburban Mumbai.
