Former BJP leader and Bharat Vahini Party chief Ghanshyam Tiwari today alleged that Bharatpur region was kept out Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje's second phase of the 'Gaurav Yatra' fearing Gujjar "resistance" there.
Tiwari, who had arrived here to inaugurated his party office, told reporters that "wastage" of public money for the yatra was "unpardonable".
"It is being impressed upon everyone that the second phase of the Gaurav Yatra, which was to start from Bharatpur, has been cancelled due to the demise of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, but the truth is that fearing resistance of Gujjar in the district, the division has been struck out from the itinerary (of the CM)," he claimed.
On the question of joining hands with Khinvsar MLA Hanuman Beniwal, Tiwari said talks are underway, but refused to disclose further details.
