Fed up of his drinking habit, wife throws acid on her husband

Fed up of her husband's drinking habit, a 28-year-old woman allegedly threw acid on him while he was asleep on the terrace of his house in Greater Kailash area of South Delhi, police said today.
A case against the woman, who is on the run, has been registered, they said.
The relationship between the couple was strained and the woman was allegedly fed up of his drinking habits.
"The couple had a scuffle on Monday night after 30-year- old Satbir Singh allegedly returned home drunk. After the fight he went to the terrace of his house to sleep.
"At about 1.30 AM on Tuesday, his wife Reema allegedly went up to the terrace with a can of acid, woke him up and threw it on him and fled from the spot," a police officer said.

Singh managed to save his face but his legs, waist and stomach suffered burns.

Hearing Singh's screams, neighbours gathered and rushed him to a hospital and also intimated the police.
According to the neighbours, the couple was married for six years and they had a son. They used to stay on different floors of the same house.
While Reema lived on the ground floor of the house, Singh lived on the first floor.
Singh would allegedly come home drunk most often and that was one of the primary reasons behind their fight, said the official, adding we are investigating the matter.
