Feluda aka Abir Chatterjee, an archetypal Kolkatan, is struck by the innate Bengaliness of Shoojit Sircar produced 'Open Tee Bioscope' which mirrors the north Kolkata of the 90s.
Abir, whose youngish 'Bong' look as sleuth added new edge to his role in recently released 'Badshahi Angti', told PTI at the premier, "Open Tee Bioscope was exceedingly good as a film which reminded him of the teenage days spent in the para alleys.
"We need more such films. It is a nostalgia-ridden movie. Very clean and uncomplicated," Abir, whose upcoming 'Aby Sen' is focussed on 80s Kolkata, said.
Director Moinak Bhowmik, whose 'Maach Mishti And More' had resonance of the yesteryear city and its food joints, said director "Anindyo (Chatterjee) has beatifully woven the journey of the children."
'Madras Cafe' director Shoojit Sircar, who affirmed can't be part of a typical masala Bengali flick in any way and only meaningful, content-rich cinema, said he wished the audiences didn't enter late into the auditorium and miss the wholesome effect.
'Open Tee Bioscope' starred 'Bariwali' and 'Buno Hansh' actor Sudipta Chakroborty of 'Big Boss' fame in a unique role of a mother who lends an ear to all the secrets of her son and shares a special on-screen bond with friend-actor Ritwik Chakroborty who has a small but significant role.
