The minister for women and child welfare met district officials in Sangli and termed the incident as "unfortunate."
She said the culprits will be brought to book and strict action will be taken against them.
The minister said the case will be handled by Deepali Kale, a doctor and a police official, from Sangli sub-division.
Munde said there was need to bring a change in society's mindset, which is still fixated with male child.
"Parents should not take away the right of the girl child to take birth," she added.

Probing the case of a pregnant woman's death during abortion, the police had reached the stream in Mhaisal village where it found the foetuses.
The minister also met the parents of the pregnant woman, who died during abortion.
