The Coroners Service of British Columbia says 61-year-old John Boncore died in March in his home on the Adams Lake Indian Reserve. Coroner Barb McLintock says there's nothing to suggest foul play.
Boncore was a Mohawk Indian who was known as John Hill at Attica. He was found guilty of murdering Corrections Officer William Quinn but was pardoned in 1976 by New York Governor Hugh Carey.
Boncore made headlines in 2009 in Alberta when he tried to make a "citizen's arrest" of former President George W Bush for alleged war crimes.
