M Manoharan (51) submitted that his son Tamilvanan was staying here in the house of a family friend, where he was 'exploited to the core and treated like a servant".As such, he purchased a house for his son at Urapakkam area.
This angered the friend, who pressurized Tamilvanan to return. He refused and started practicing as a lawyer from 2012.As Mohankrishnan had some pending cases,he approached his son. After these were disposed off, he accused him of cheating him by taking a huge amount as legal fees,the petitioner said.
He contended that police was not conducting a fair probe, and sought transfer of the case to an independent agency.
Justice P N Prakash noted that police were conducting investigation and had arrested one accused. "Police is directed to continue investigation and file a status report within three weeks," the court said.
