Film city to come up at Igatpuri in Nashik district
Press Trust of India Nashik (Maha) A film city will be set up at Igatpuri in Nashik district, Maharashtra PWD Minister Chhagan Bhujbal said. Bhujbal inaugurated a film festival here yesterday, organised by the State Cultural Affairs Department to mark the centenary of Indian cinema industry which started off with Dadasaheb Phalke-produced 'Raja Harishchandra' in 1913. Bhujbal noted in his speech that Phalke, who hailed from Nashik, faced a lot of hardship during his career as the pioneer film-maker, and the film city in the district was a tribute to him. The state government has sanctioned Rs 10 crore for the film city, he said.
